*Please note: this is not a sponsored post. I am just starting out in the blogging world and none of my posts are being compensated. I really do just love this baby carrier and wanted to write a review on it myself to help out other mommies.
OK, so I did a fair amount of research before I purchased a baby carrier and I will say that there are many good quality carriers and they are all quite pricey, but honestly, you get what you pay for. I ended up settling on Ergobaby because they claim to be well constructed and durable. I chose the omni 360 model so that I didn’t have to purchase the newborn insert separately. The most important reason for ME and our needs, is that this baby carrier has a higher weight limit than most baby carriers. I absolutely needed one with a high weight limit because my baby girl is massive! At her 9 month check up, she clocked in at 30 lbs and was 30 inches long! She was also born weighing 10 lbs and 11 oz, and gained 6 lbs every 2 months for the first 6 months!
My husband and I purchased the baby carrier when our daughter was around 5 months old. I’d wanted one sooner but we are not rich and had already spent tons of money on other baby necessities. (seriously, how expensive are baby things?! and you only use them for such a short amount of time! lol) We were taking a trip to Calgary, Alberta to visit my brother in law and we knew that we would be hiking Banff while we were there and bringing her hiking in a stroller was just not an option. It was an excellent decision, it made our trip to Calgary Zoo and hiking the mountains in Banff a breeze! I will admit that the first couple times using it took a little bit of patience to figure it out but once you get used to it, it’s simple. It is a little tricky to get baby settled in when you’re doing it yourself but when I have Daddy Elle to help me then it takes next to no work. There is a couple different strap positions, the H-strap position and the X-strap position, and if you are putting the carrier on solo I highly recommend doing the X strap position. The durability of the carrier is incredible, you can tell it is well constructed and I will definitely be able to use it with future babies we will have!
It supports Baby Elle so well and distributes her weight much more comfortable across my body than carrying her without it. I also love that you can use it to carry your baby facing away from you, or towards you. You can carry your baby on your front, on your hip, or even on your back when baby is bigger! I feel completely comfortable carrying Baby Elle around in this carrier, I don’t feel like she’s going to fall out of it or break it and I don’t feel like I need to support her with my hands at the same time. Which I love because it makes grocery shopping a breeze as well.
I honestly cannot recommend this baby carrier enough! Especially if you are a mommy with a heavier baby like myself 🙂 but even if you don’t have a heavy baby, this baby carrier is worth every penny, I promise.
Question: would anybody be interested if I did a video tutorial on how to use the carrier?
